Packaging Design & Creative Direction

Three moods. One brand.

Liquid Lemon designed the packaging system and creative direction for OFFLINE, a functional beverage brand, across its three launch flavors: FLOAT (Strawberry Lemonade), UNWIND (Wild Berry), and UPLIFT (Blood Orange). The work covered creative direction, product visualization, and print-ready artwork built on production dielines for 12 oz slim-can four-pack cartons.

What Liquid Lemon designed for OFFLINE

OFFLINE is a functional beverage brand built around a simple idea: different moments call for different moods. The brand launched with three flavors, each tied to a different state, from unwinding after a long day to finding a moment of energy.

Liquid Lemon built one packaging system for all three OFFLINE flavors: Strawberry Lemonade, Wild Berry, and Blood Orange. The job was to give each flavor its own personality while keeping every carton unmistakably OFFLINE.

The result is a family of four-pack cartons that uses color, oversized typography, and flavor-driven illustration to separate the flavors, with a shared layout holding the lineup together.

What packaging challenge did OFFLINE face?

OFFLINE needed packaging that gave each of its three flavors its own personality without splintering the brand into three unrelated designs. Three flavors served different purposes, and the packaging had to carry all of them under one identity.

So the system had to stretch. One visual framework, flexible enough to carry multiple flavors, functional ingredient callouts, and product messaging, tight enough to still read as a single brand on the shelf.

It also had to survive production. Every carton had to move from a digital concept to print-ready artwork, accounting for structural dielines and print specifications.

The goal was straightforward: make every flavor feel different, make every product feel unmistakably OFFLINE.

How did Liquid Lemon unify three flavors under one brand?

Liquid Lemon treated OFFLINE's packaging as one collection, not three separate designs. Oversized OFFLINE typography anchors brand recognition across every carton, and color plus illustration do the work of telling the flavors apart.

The OFFLINE system runs on three elements.

01. Color as communication

Each flavor gets its own palette, built to signal its personality before a customer reads a single word on the carton.

02. Illustration for recognition

Custom fruit illustrations lock each flavor to its taste and give the line a young, expressive look.

03. One framework across every panel

Typography, product hierarchy, ingredient callouts, and carton structure all follow the same framework, so recognition holds across the collection.

The collection: FLOAT, UNWIND, and UPLIFT

OFFLINE launched with three flavors, each given its own color and illustration inside Liquid Lemon's shared carton system.

01. FLOAT

Strawberry Lemonade | Designed to Float

Pink, coral, and citrus orange give FLOAT a light, playful identity. Oversized fruit illustrations and soft gradients carry the "Designed to Float" line, and the palette reads as energetic without tipping into loud.

02. UNWIND

Wild Berry | Designed to Unwind

Deep purple and cool blue set a calmer, more atmospheric direction. Berry illustrations, subtle star elements, and white typography give UNWIND its own personality while keeping it part of the OFFLINE lineup, a deliberate contrast to the brighter flavors.

03. UPLIFT

Blood Orange | Designed to Uplift

Bright orange, warm red, and saturated citrus gradients make UPLIFT the loudest of the three. Large orange illustrations drive flavor recognition, and the high-contrast palette gives the carton a strong shelf presence. UPLIFT closes out the three-product collection.

How did OFFLINE's artwork get print-ready?

Past the visual design, Liquid Lemon built OFFLINE's packaging artwork on production dielines for the four-pack cartons. Each design was adapted to the physical carton, so the identity held across the front, side, and top panels.

Product visualization turned the flat artwork into rendered carton mockups, so the lineup could be seen as finished product before anything went to print. Product information, functional ingredient callouts, and brand elements all sit inside one layout rather than fighting for space.

The supplied production specs: 12 oz slim-can four-pack cartons, 18pt folding box board, and a matte exterior coating. That's the part most packaging decks skip. The creative only counts once it prints correctly on the real carton.

The finished OFFLINE packaging system

Liquid Lemon delivered OFFLINE a complete three-flavor packaging system: custom color and illustration per flavor, a shared carton framework, and print-ready artwork for the 12 oz slim-can four-packs. FLOAT's pinks, UNWIND's purples, and UPLIFT's oranges read as three distinct products and one brand.

OFFLINE launched with packaging that reads as a single brand across every flavor and holds a clear identity in the functional beverage category.
